Client Album Fulfillment for Studios — Design, Print and Ship, Handled

Fulfillment is where album revenue quietly dies. The lab has minimums, the boxes come to you, you re-pack and re-ship, and the design sat in your queue for three weeks first. Hickory collapses that into one path: gallery in, drafted book, client checkout, drop-shipped print.

What you stop paying for

The usual album stack is four bills — layout software, a proofing gallery, a print lab account, and a storefront or invoicing tool — plus five to ten hours per album, or roughly $144 to outsource the design. Hickory is one login covering all four stages, and you review a draft instead of building one.

Drop-shipped under your studio's name

Books print to order and go straight to your client's address in 7–14 days. There is no minimum order, nothing arrives at your studio, and Hickory's name appears nowhere your client can see it — not in the gallery, not on the receipt, not on the box.

What actually gets printed

An 8.5x11 casewrap hardcover, press printed in full color on archival paper, bound with a normal gutter. Page count is derived from how many photos are in the gallery, within a 24 to 150 page range. It is a genuinely good companion book, and it is not a lay-flat flush-mount album — we'd rather say so than have your client discover it.

Questions photographers ask

Is there a minimum order?

No, and nothing obliges you to commit to a run. One copy prints as readily as thirty. Printing itself costs the same per copy at any quantity — where a multi-copy order does save is shipping, because one box going to one address carries several books for close to the cost of sending one.

Who handles a damaged or misprinted book?

We do, with the printer. You send us the order and a photo of the problem; your client deals only with your studio, which is how it should look from their side.

What if I leave — do I lose my galleries?

No. On cancellation your files stay available for thirty days so you can download every gallery, and we email the deadline before anything is removed.

What does the platform cost?

Opening a studio is free — set one up, upload a gallery, and look at the book it drafts before you pay us anything. You set the retail price your client sees, and you keep what's left after print cost: a 36-page hardcover lands at $20.50 for a single copy with US shipping included. We have not set a studio subscription price yet, so we are not going to post one. The pricing page has the full cost breakdown and a form to be told first when the number is decided.
