Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Hickory Books, a service that helps you turn your photos into printed books. By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

You need an account to use most features. You're responsible for keeping your login secure and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to form a binding contract where you live.

You keep all rights to the photos and content you add. You grant Hickory Books a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, reproduce, and print your content solely to provide the service — including building, previewing, printing, and shipping your books, and powering features you use. You represent that you have the rights to the content you upload and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's rights or break the law.

You agree not to use Hickory Books to create, store, or print:

• content you don't have the rights to use;
• illegal content, including child sexual abuse material or content that exploits or endangers minors;
• content that harasses, threatens, or defames others; or
• content that violates any applicable law or third-party right.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Some features and pricing are available through a paid membership. Membership fees, billing intervals, and what each plan includes are described on our pricing page. Key points:

• Recurring memberships renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and membership benefits (including access to your digital library and member pricing) end when your membership ends.
• Except where required by law, membership fees already paid are non-refundable.
• We may change membership pricing or benefits prospectively; we will give reasonable notice of material changes.

Books are printed on demand through our print-and-ship partner. When you place an order, you authorize us to charge the price shown at checkout, including any shipping upgrade you select. Production and delivery typically take about 7–14 days, but timelines are estimates and not guarantees. You're responsible for entering a correct shipping address; we're not responsible for orders delayed or lost due to an address error.

Because each book is custom-printed for you, orders generally can't be canceled once they've gone to print, and printed books are not returnable. If your book arrives defective or damaged, or we make a production error, contact us within 30 days of delivery and we'll reprint or refund it. Please review your book before ordering — we print what you approve.

Hickory Books uses AI to describe, group, and arrange your photos. These suggestions are automated and may be imperfect. You are responsible for reviewing and approving your book before ordering.

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that colors and print results will exactly match what you see on screen.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Hickory Books will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service or an order is limited to the amount you paid for the order or membership giving rise to the claim.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
